my long-month questions

Here are my questions.

1. Most sporting events such as the World Cup, the Super Bowl and the Olympic Games now use as many multimedia platforms as possible (Facebook, Twitter, SMS, etc) in order to attract more viewers. Additionally, television companies, such as CNN, NBC and your local PBS station are also promoting more interactivity with consumers, using various forms of multimedia. With that in mind, should spending time on Facebook and Twitter be considered a waste of time or could you argue you are gaining valuable access to important information?

2. Should news be available to everyone regardless of its accuracy making it the responsibility of the viewer to draw conclusions about the information's veracity? Or should there be a standard of accountability for investigation, fact checking, specific sources, data etc, before the news are publicly exposed?

3. How did we find the information we currently find on online streamed videos (such as you tube) before this media was available? Since this media wasn't always available, why do we find it so necessary now? What would we be missing without it?
